How we work here

Working with businesses remotely

  1. The same working day

Sri Lanka shares our time, and Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and the Maldives are within about half an hour, so live calls and quick approvals are easy.

  2. English as the working language

We work and write in English. Content in Sinhala, Tamil, Nepali, Bengali, Dhivehi or Dzongkha needs native writers, and we discuss how that is handled before you commit.

  3. Platforms your customers use

Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and WhatsApp, plus regional marketplaces such as Daraz where they matter to your sales.

  4. Remote, with clear agreements

A written proposal and agreement before work starts, with the quote currency, usually USD, agreed at the proposal stage.

Close neighbours, close time zones

Working across borders in South Asia is unusually straightforward. Sri Lanka shares India Standard Time. Nepal is fifteen minutes ahead, Bangladesh and Bhutan are half an hour ahead, and the Maldives is half an hour behind. None of these countries changes its clocks, so the gap stays the same all year.

Working weeks do differ: Bangladesh and the Maldives, for example, take Friday and Saturday as their weekend. We agree working days, call slots and response times at the start, so a Sunday request in Dhaka or Malé is not left waiting without warning.

Shared platforms, different habits

Customers across the region use many of the same platforms as Indian customers: Google for search and Maps, Facebook and Instagram for discovery, YouTube for video and WhatsApp for conversations with businesses. The balance between them differs by country and sector, and so do the commerce habits around them.

  • Marketplaces. Daraz is a major online marketplace in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. For many retailers it sits alongside their own website and social pages. Our marketplace services cover listings, store presentation and marketplace advertising.
  • Social selling. In several markets, a lot of selling happens through Facebook and Instagram pages and direct messages. Fast responses, clear catalogues and well-targeted ads matter more than a complex website at the start.
  • Local payments. Shoppers often use local cards, mobile wallets or cash on delivery, which affects how online stores and checkout pages need to be built. We plan payment and delivery options with you, using providers available in your country.

Sectors with distinct needs

  • Tourism and hospitality. Hotels, resorts, guesthouses and tour operators in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan sell largely to overseas visitors. That means fast, image-rich websites, direct booking journeys, visibility on Google and Maps, and campaigns aimed at the countries your guests come from. See our website development service.
  • Exporters and manufacturers. Garment, textile, tea, spice and other exporters need credible English-language websites and catalogues that international buyers can find and trust.
  • Retail and e-commerce. Online stores, marketplace listings and social commerce, joined up with tracking so you know which channel actually sells.
  • Education and professional services. Colleges, training institutes, consultancies and agencies that need steady enquiries and clear information for students, families and clients.

Market size varies widely across the region, from Bangladesh’s large consumer base to the much smaller, more specialised markets of Bhutan and the Maldives. We plan channels and spend around the audience you actually need to reach, which is often overseas buyers or visitors rather than the domestic market alone.

Language and content

We work and write in English, which is widely used for business across the region. For consumer audiences, content in the local language often performs better. That content needs a native writer, and we agree before you commit how it will be arranged and who reviews it. We never run machine-translated copy on your behalf without review.

Data and agreements

Data protection laws in the region are developing; Sri Lanka, for example, has passed a Personal Data Protection Act that is being brought into force in stages. Before we handle customer data, we agree in writing what is shared, where it is stored and who can access it. Every engagement starts with a written proposal covering scope, milestones, ownership, payment terms and confidentiality.

How we work with you

We start with a video call, review your current website, social pages and campaigns, and send a written proposal. Work proceeds in stages with previews and approvals, and ongoing marketing is reported monthly from the platforms themselves. Our international page explains how remote engagements work across all our markets.

We do not guarantee rankings, leads or sales. We commit to careful work, clear communication and honest reporting.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Have a different question? Ask us directly.

Do you have offices in Sri Lanka, Nepal or elsewhere in South Asia?

No. We are based in Ongole, India, and work with clients in the region remotely, using video calls, WhatsApp, email and shared project tools. Because our time zones are so close, that works smoothly for most digital work. We do not promise in-person visits; if something needs a physical presence, such as a photo shoot at your premises, we will help you brief a local supplier.

Which currency do you quote in?

We usually quote international clients in USD, and the currency and payment route are agreed at the proposal stage. Cross-border payments in some countries in the region involve their own banking rules and approvals, so we discuss what is practical for you before anything is finalised, and write the agreed terms into the proposal.

Can you help us sell on Daraz?

Yes. Daraz is a major online marketplace in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. We can help with product listings, images, descriptions, store presentation and advertising that points shoppers to your store, alongside your own website. Marketplace rules and fees change, so we work from the current seller policies and tell you where a decision is yours to make.

Do you create content in local languages?

We work and write in English. Many businesses in the region use English for their websites and B2B communication, but consumer campaigns often work better in the local language. For Sinhala, Tamil, Nepali, Bengali or Dhivehi content, a native writer is needed, and we agree before you commit how that will be arranged and who reviews it.

What kinds of businesses is this suited to?

Any business that is comfortable working with a remote partner. Typical needs in the region include hotels, resorts and travel companies selling to overseas visitors, exporters and manufacturers reaching international buyers, retailers selling online, and education and professional services firms. We work with businesses of every size, from founder-led firms to established groups.
