Who benefits
- Brands launching a product, service or campaign that is easier to show than describe.
- Businesses already running Google Ads that want to add video reach and remarketing.
- Companies with existing video content that is not being seen by enough of the right people.
- Established brands that want to keep their name familiar between purchase cycles.
Sivogi team + specialist partners
01 The challenge
Video can explain a product, build trust and keep a brand memorable in ways a text advert cannot. But YouTube campaigns are easy to get wrong. Budgets are spent on views from the wrong audience, a long brand film is cut down badly for a six-second slot, or an awareness campaign is judged on clicks it was never designed to produce.
02 What's included
YouTube Advertising: what you get
- 01
Campaign strategy and objectives
A plan that states what each campaign is for, such as awareness, consideration or conversions, and which formats, audiences and measures fit that goal.
- 02
Google Ads video campaign setup
Campaigns, ad groups, budgets, bidding, frequency settings and placements configured in Google Ads, with your YouTube channel properly linked.
- 03
Audience targeting
Audiences built from demographics, interests, life events, custom segments based on search behaviour, your own customer lists and people who have engaged with your channel or website.
- 04
Creative planning and production coordination
Scripts and edit briefs for each format and length, and coordination of shoots and edits with our creative team or partners, so videos are made for the slot they will run in.
- 05
Measurement and tracking
Conversion tracking, view-through and engagement metrics, and brand lift studies where the campaign is eligible, so results are judged against the right objective.
- 06
Optimisation and reporting
Regular reviews of placements, audiences and creative, with exclusions added, weak ads replaced and a monthly report in plain language.
How this is delivered: Campaign strategy, setup, targeting and management are done in-house by Sivogi. Scripting, editing and motion graphics are handled by our creative team; where a campaign needs a new live-action shoot, we arrange partner videographers, brief and direct them and review the footage, so you keep one point of contact.

04 In depth
How YouTube advertising works
YouTube ads are bought and managed through Google Ads, the same platform used for search advertising. That means video campaigns can share audiences, conversion tracking and budgets with your Google Ads search campaigns, and people who watched your video can later be reached when they search. Your YouTube channel needs to be linked to your Google Ads account, and your ads run from videos uploaded to that channel.
The main formats, described neutrally
- Skippable in-stream ads play before, during or after other videos, and viewers can skip after a few seconds. They suit longer messages that earn attention quickly.
- Non-skippable and bumper ads are short and cannot be skipped. Bumper ads are only a few seconds long and work as reminders rather than full explanations.
- In-feed video ads appear in YouTube search results, the home feed and alongside related videos. Viewers choose to click and watch, so they suit useful or interesting content.
- Shorts ads run between vertical Shorts videos on mobile. They need vertical creative built for a fast, swipe-based feed.
Google also offers campaign types that combine several formats and let its systems choose placements. These can be efficient, but they give less control over where ads appear, so we explain the trade-off before using them.
Matching the objective to the measure
The most common mistake with video advertising is judging it by the wrong number. A bumper campaign designed to keep your brand familiar will rarely produce many direct clicks, and that is not a failure. A campaign designed to generate enquiries should be judged on enquiries, not views.
We agree one main objective per campaign. Awareness campaigns are reported on reach in your target audience, frequency, views and, where budget and eligibility allow, Google’s brand lift studies. Conversion campaigns are reported on tracked actions on your website, set up through our analytics and conversion tracking work. Results depend on your creative, offer, audience and budget, so we report what happened honestly and explain what we will change.
Creative made for the slot
A video that works as a two-minute brand film rarely works as a six-second bumper or a vertical Short without being re-edited. We plan creative around the formats in the plan: a strong first few seconds, your brand shown early, captions for silent viewing and a clear next step. Our content marketing and creative production team handles scripts and edits, and live-action shoots are arranged with partner videographers when needed.
Channel basics that support your ads
Viewers often click through to your channel after an ad, and a neglected channel can undo the work of a good campaign. We check that it is linked correctly, that playlists are organised, that titles, descriptions and thumbnails are clear, and that the videos people find there support the message in your ads.
Pricing: YouTube advertising is usually a monthly management engagement. Ad spend is paid directly to Google and video production is quoted separately based on what the campaign needs.
Do we need professionally produced videos to advertise on YouTube?
Not always. Clear, well-structured videos filmed with modest equipment can perform well, especially for Shorts and in-feed ads. What matters most is a strong opening, a clear message and the right length for the format. We review what you already have and recommend new production only where it is likely to make a real difference.
What is the difference between brand awareness and conversion campaigns?
Awareness campaigns aim to reach many relevant people and keep your brand familiar, and are judged on reach, frequency, views and, where eligible, brand lift studies. Conversion campaigns aim to drive actions such as enquiries or purchases. Mixing the two goals in one campaign usually makes it harder to judge either, so we keep them separate.
Which YouTube ad formats should we use?
It depends on your goal and your videos. Skippable in-stream ads suit longer stories, bumper ads suit short reminders, in-feed ads suit content people choose to watch, and Shorts ads reach vertical, mobile viewers. Most campaigns use two or three formats rather than all of them.
Can YouTube ads target a specific city or country?
Yes. Campaigns can be targeted by location, from a country down to a city or a radius around an area, and combined with language and audience settings. Available reach depends on how many people in that location watch YouTube, so very small areas may limit delivery.
Will you manage our YouTube channel as well?
We cover channel basics that support your ads, such as linking the channel to Google Ads, organising playlists, writing clear titles and descriptions and checking thumbnails. Ongoing channel publishing and community management can be added as part of our content and social media services.
